1. Magnificat - The CD opens with a beautiful Fr. Stan original composition of this classic. Sets the tone with strings, nylon string guitar and mystical percussion.
2. Say Yes To Sex - (What????) Fr. Stan has been preaching up this topic for awhile. Believe me, it has nothing to do with what's been in the news recently.
It addresses the beauty of sex within the context of MARRIAGE.
3. F.A.M.I.L.Y. Remix - Anyone who has Sacro Song knows what this means....Forget About Me, I Love You. Well, it's back on Sacro Song II with a new beat, new music and new lyrics.....one 'mo time.
4. Libre - Have you ever seen these TV shows or movies where there is a smokey coffeehouse in the 1950's and a bunch of beatnicks and poets are reciting their stuff. That's the feeling I get whenever I listen to this. Brother Augustino wrote the lyrics and recites them to driving percussions performed by Fr. Stan.You ain't heard nothing like this, but you won't forget it!!!
5. Everybody Got 2 Suffer - This was the first song completed for the CD and
it's the one we sent to the radio stations (with your help). Dig this...I don't want to drop names but Martin Sheen got a hold of this and totally freaked.
(We're still waiting for the call so Fr. Stan can make a guest appearance on The West Wing.) This song addresses the fact that suffering is universal - not just restricted to certain classes of people. Ain't that the truth!!!
6.BARAKA - Lyrics written by Baraka Noel, this is a beautiful cry for salvation. You can't help but feel the emotion and pain as Fr. Stan slowly raps
this lyric behind a beautiful musical accompaniment of piano and muted horns.
7. Cell 91 - I learned something new here. I’m sure some of y’all already know this. When there is a papal election, the candidates sit at pre-assigned places. JP II (our hero) was at Cell 91. This is a rapping tribute to Our Holy Father. Fr. Stan debuts his “talk box” on this number. This is a gadget where
you speak thru a tube that runs thru your guitar and comes out of the amp sounding like a robot on steroids. Anyway, the song ends with an inspiring quote by Pope John Paul II. Also featured here are the beautiful background vocals of Lisa Florez.
8. Instructional Dialogue - This actually is a set-up for the next song. It is a dialogue with Fr. Stan and a special guest, talking about the possibility of a proposed law which states that if a fetus is killed when a pregnant woman is attacked, it is considered MURDER. Needless to say, Congress is really wrestling over this one.
9. Unborn Victims of Violence - This is the song about the proposed law. It pulls no punches regarding the politics of this issue. Musically, we like to refer to this one as “the psycho” song. Screaming guitars, heavy percussion and deep down bass. Look out Ozzie, here comes Fr. Stan!!!
10. Dame Tu Luz - This is a Spanish rap. Lyrics by Fr. Stan, Brother Augustino and Kiriam Colon (from the neighborhood). This song has that Santana vibe…..great percussion, keyboards and bass. We hear Lisa Florez again on background vocals. You go, girl!!!
11. HDHD - This stands for Hand-Drum, Hand-Down. The hand drum part refers to the musical instruments in the song….all authentic African hand drums and percussion instruments, played by Fr. Stan. He finishes off with a tasty bass solo. The hand down part refers to 1 Corintheans 11: 23. What was handed down to us? Look it up!!!
12. Magnificat - This is the same as the opening song on the CD. Lyrics by Our Blessed Mother. Beautiful!!!!
